Mr Goh Guo-Hua, 27, a financial controller, likes economics as it helps to make sense of the world.

"I like how you can form models to predict what will happen. You put the rational into the irrational," says Guo-Hua.

"It's like being a soothsayer."

In his free time, Guo-Hua plays the guitar and does rock-climbing, and what he says about the latter suggests further his analytical nature.

"To me, rock climbing is quite like a puzzle. It seems like tetris, where you have to solve all these puzzles to reach the goal, which is basically getting to the top," he says.

When it comes to travelling, the assistant manager for Southeast Asia at this company steps off the beaten track, preferring the isolated areas.

Just last month, he rented a 4WD and drove around Cambodia for two weeks. "If you stick to the city, it's not much different from what you see in Singapore."

Workwise, Guo-Hua has his immediate destination worked out.

"I want to become a finance manager for one of the countries in Southeast Asia," he says.

Ms Eve Chong, 30, is a sales consultant at Strip, a Brazilian waxing chain. And yes, she's gone through the stripping process herself.

"It's a must for staff!" says Eve. "Or else you can't explain to customers what it's like, or how to take care of themselves after waxing."

"The more the know, the less fear they will have about getting a Brazilian wax."

She also warns that customers get addicted once they try it. "You'll feel very fresh, you'll very clean," says Eve.

She says she's a good fit for her current job. "I'm very cheerful and talkative, and I love to smile a lot."

"And I'm doing something I like, which is serving people," said the former travel agent, whose hobbies include practising yoga, swimming, dancing and singing.

And probably travelling too. Something else Eve would like to do is to visit all the seven wonders of the world.

"I've yet to visit one of them. Hopefully I'll do it before I die," says Eve with a  laugh.
