| Mr James Ng, 28, a freelance secondary school and tuition teacher, likes to attend personal development seminars.
"I feel that I must be very open to new ideas because we are living in an age when we need to consistently change the way we do things," he says.
That's why he puts in time and money to pick up skills like developing a millionaire mindset, neuro-linguistic programming and positive thinking.
It's also a great way to network, says James, whose interest in building contacts has helped him get to know casting agents, landing him roles in programmes like Crimewatch, he says.
"Acting to me is just a hobby," says James. "Unless I get enough supporters telling me that they want to make me a superstar!"
He hopes to be a successful trainer, though he which field he has yet to decide. To get there, James can bear in mind what he has learnt about positive thinking.
"If things don't work out the way you want them to, you have to look at your strategies again and keep on changing your methods until you have the results you want."

Ms Cheryl Tay, 21, a final-year Business student at Nanyang Technology University (NTU), says she hopes to eventually retire as an entrepreneur.
"I wanted to do business because my dad is an entrepreneur – so in the future, I can help him or start my own business.
"But I don't like finance or accountancy. I can't just face a computer and stare at numbers everyday," says Cheryl, explaining why she is specialising in marketing. She is doing a minor in entrepreneurship as well, "just to network more and get to know the professors".
And since five months ago, she has added writing to her list of skills. Cheryl says she currently does freelance writing for Wheels Asia magazine on a monthly basis, often about encounters on the road.
"I'm one of the rare female motoring writers," says the Lancer driver with over two years of road experience.
Cheryl has so far done a marketing internship and is currently doing marketing for the NTU Entrepreneurship Society. For the coming school term, the part-time model hopes to boost her writing portfolio with a writing internship.
"At least I'll have one more career option," says Cheryl of her journey into writing.
