Mr Ivan Toh, 29, has been with the Republic of Singapore Navy for nine years and is currently a Communication Specialist.
And that is about all we can know of his job scope, since a lot of it is confidential, says Ivan. Working in the navy means he gets to visit other countries when there are overseas exercises -- one of the perks of the job. For example, he once circled the globe on a four-month deployment.
He says he likes to meet people, and that "everyone of us should live our life happily and to the fullest everyday".
"I like to bring happiness to people around me. And I believe that through meeting different people, I will be able to learn from them. And from learning, I wil be able to grow and from growing, I will be able to learn more," says Ivan.
Did he join the navy because he likes the sun, sand and the sea? Well, in his free time, Ivan says he enjoys working on a tan and swimming. He is also working out at the gym to build up a more toned body.
"I am someone who likes to have pictures of myself taken all the time!"he declares.
Why you should vote for me: "I'm quite a positive person. I hope people will learn from me to be positive even if negative things happen to them."

Ms Jaslyn Loh, 27, is a new kid on the block with an IT company as a business development executive.
Her new job requires her to be out and about, interacting and building rapport with clients from different walks of life. She'll also be able to put her psychology degree to good use, understanding what makes people tick.
Which she says is more interesting than sitting in an office all day, like in her previous job in administrative operations.
She describes herself as a sunny and bubbly girl-next-door who radiates warmth and energy; someone who is "always in a hurry to complete as much as I can with the limited time I have everyday", she adds.
On weekends, Jaslyn joins her friends at East Coast to cycle or roller-blade. Sometimes, they go for a Makan Sutra-style hunt for local food.
Back at her place, the foodie is honing her culinary skills by experimenting in the kitchen.
She has since discovered that "soups, though simple at first glance, are hard to prepare".
"However, I like challenge and it is what I find most interesting to prepare," she says, "as you need to understand how the ingredients compliment each other to bring out the best flavor of the soup."
Why you should vote for me: "The NYDC voucher would come in handy in treating my family to a surprise lunch!" |
