| Fresh out of law school this year, Mr Wang Yi, 24, started work as a legal counsel just three weeks ago at Singapore Airlines.
"I was always very interested in something humanities-based," he says. "Law was very varied and covered many things I like, such as sociology, economics and history.
Wang Yi's other interests include travelling and playing the piano. He started tinkling the ivories since he was six years old, and still does so to this day.
"I enjoy playing – it wasn't just for the sake of exams or nagging parents." Playing the piano has become a social thing for Wang Yi, who says he finds himself doing so at events like pre-wedding cocktail receptions.
As for travelling, "I just like to go where there are things to see and do.
"I'm a very inquisitive person," says Wang Yi. "I have a love for life and I like to see new things and interact with new people."
A legal career means long hours, but Wang Yi says he has every intention to keep his health up. His favourite method to do so? Probably football, which he plays up to two times a week.
"I believe in a sound mind in a sound body. If I'm physically healthy, I'll be able to do my work better."
Why you should vote for me: "I think I'm young, I'm fresh and I have a love for the good life."

Trained in graphic design and photography and with work experience in both capacities, Ms Loren Xue, 24, now finds herself as a writer.
"When you're younger, you do the things you think you're good at," she says. And while Loren still loves photography, she says that graphic design is not "my thing".
"I have a better grasp on words than on graphics," says Loren. "I 'resonate' when it comes to words; with graphics, I have to 'look' harder."
The chance to break into writing came this year. Through an ex-colleague – now her editor – Loren now finds herself at Q magazine, a personal finance magazine that was launched early this year.
For someone who says she was always broke in the past, it is an interesting option.
"I was keen to learn finance," she explains. "And after working here, amazingly, I have savings," she quips. "I'm managing money better, living better and I'm happier."
And through investing, she says she hopes to become a professional bum.
"I'm aiming for financial freedom," says Loren. "That's when your passive income exceeds your expenditure."
Why you should vote for me: "I'm a ray of sunshine. Sometimes people need a cheerful person beside them to remind them it's good to be happy." |
