Life is sweet for Frenchman Daniel Cathiard these days.

The 63-year-old former Olympic ski champion replicated his success on the ski slopes in his sporting goods and supermarket chain business. But he left all that behind to indulge his greatest passion - wine.

Together with his wife Florence, he purchased the centuries old Chateau Smith Haut Lafite in France's Bordeaux region in 1990, and has never looked back.
