Bernachon was started by Maurice Bernachon who learnt the craft of chocolate making as a young teenager. After his chocolate master retired, Chef Maurice bought over the confectionary shop and transformed it into an icon of fine chocolates and pastries, recognised by discerning chocolate lovers all over the world. Bernachon is also extremely exclusive - there is only one Bernachon Kitchen in the whole of France, and it is situated in the culinary capital Lyon. Today, the chocolatier is managed by the third generation of the Bernachon family, which still uses traditional recipes and skills in the Lyonnais style, albeit aided by modern technology.
