China's torch relay paraded through the sensitive former Silk Road city of Kashgar on the second day of its journey through the mainly Muslim Xinjiang region.

Crowds lined the roads as torch bearers ran with the flame through Kashgar, the cultural capital of the minority Muslim Uighur.
