Every day in the summer members of the Yalu River Swimming Association in the Chinese city of Dandong take the plunge - in more ways than one.

Some of the club members swim across to the opposite bank - 500 metres away. It's a risky way to keep fit because the river borders North Korea and visitors are liable to be shot.

Tourists also cruise up and down the river getting a glimpse of the reclusive communist state.
