Tainted Thai milk discovery
Oct 17, 2008
High levels of melamine are found in condensed milk products in Thailand.
Thailand's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has ordered the maker of the unsweetened 'Mali' milk to stop production. Retailers of the product are being told to remove it from their shelves.
Thailand is the latest country to find traces of melamine in a widening health scandal after the industrial chemical was found in milk and milk formula in China. Melamine is used in fertilisers and plastics.
