It has been exactly 20 years since Myanmar's military junta crushed the popular uprising on Aug 8, 1988.

Activists from the Philippine divisions of Free Burma Coalition and Amnesty International criticised Chinese support for the Burmese junta and recalled the 20th anniversary of the bloody democracy uprising, which resulted in the loss of approximately 3,000 lives.
