Scientists from the Martin Luther University in the German city of Halle have discovered traces of a Bronze Age site in the small town of Poemmelte in eastern Germany.

They say the structure, with many concentric rings of graves and wall, has only ever really been seen in the British Isles. It also has many similarities with the famous Stonehenge monument in southern England, although the German site was made from wood not stone.
