Fleeing Philippines fighting
Aug 13, 2008
Nearly 160,000 people have been forced to flee after the Philippines army battled Muslim separatists.
The separatists in the southern Philippines were pulling out of Catholic farmlands after a fierce military assault on their positions. Manila has accused hundreds of MILF guerrillas of occupying the villages and had given them an ultimatum to leave.
