William Hall saunters out of a gas station store in Niagra county New York, back to his truck to fill it up.

A gas pump likely saved the man's life when a bolt of lightning threw him to the ground while he was filling up his truck.

It knocked the man, William Hall, out for about five minutes. Police say it could have been the end of him if it had been a direct hit.
