A rookie recruit takes his first steps towards becoming member of a volunteer police dog squad. The reluctant pooch is being trained in Bangkok as part of a programme to back-up the under-staffed Thai police dog unit.

Trainee dogs and their owners spend two hours on basic obedience, training their dogs to respond to orders such as 'sit', 'forward' and 'wait'. If they pass the basic course, they can then move on to more specialised training.
