Residents from the Romanian village of Panatau tried to stop a group of nuns from leaving a nearby Orthodox monastery on Friday, by trapping them in their cars for five hours

The nuns had been based at the monastery since 2002, but had been ordered to relocate to another monastery.The group shouted their pleas and prayed loudly on their knees in front of their vehicles, before police were called in to send the nuns on their way.
