A group of demonstrators confronted police trying to end a blockade at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport, forcing them to retreat.

At this point, there's no sign of police regrouping and trying again. And the Thai army's refusal to step in to support the embattled government of Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat is fuelling rumours of a military-backed coup.
