The cow is revered by Hindus. In the past the sacred beast's urine has been touted as a cure-all for everything from hysteria to piles.

Now, scientists at India's Bangalore Veterinary college say a new study has found that rats and mice given a daily dose of cow's urine had lower blood sugar levels.

Could this be the basis for a new anti-diabetes drug?
