Yves-Saint Laurent died on Sunday in Paris a year after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

His long-time friend and business partner Pierre Berge said he was an iconic designer whose work accompanied the women's liberation movement.

Yves Saint-Laurent was the king of haute couture - he was widely credited with rewriting the rules of fashion by creating cutting edge designs that revolutionised the industry.
